The Man, The Dog And The Metaphor.

The Man dug while the Dog watched.

"Damn this dirt," he said, at which the Dog looked on and waited. It tilted its head towards the right and spat the stick on the ground. In its impatience, it barked thrice. More dirt crept in the Man's fingernails. His bruised knuckles frowned at his desperation. All around him, a young Evening yawned and gave up trying to arouse the Man. Sweet distant lights brought tender, roasted and grilled fragrances and called out his name. The Dog sniffed, barked and whined.

But the Man still dug in, his hands covered in muck. He had a sack he needed to fill the dirt in. "Memories and truth," he said to the Dog, "I must have them uncovered. I know they are down there somewhere. They're so priceless, how can I forget? I cannot keep my slate clean." And so he dug, filled his sack with dirt, more dirt for he hoped to find his past in it. The Evening grew into a beautiful, voluptuous star studded Night. The Night grew old, saggy, its beauty remained untouched.

That almost pitch black night darkened and enveloped his world.

His Dog fell into a deep, deep sleep. The Night still had a few lights twinkling at the horizon, but the Man was so tired, he could hardly see.

He made his way to his chair to pluck his boots and relax, but dozed off uncomfortably so, even the dreams weren't silver.

The Questions and Answers now begin:

Q: What kind of a Dog was accompanying the Man?

A: The Dog of Mindless Pleasure.

Q: Where was the Man supposed to throw the stick?

A: As far as possible.

Q: Why?

A: For the Dog to scamper to new places. Also, in order to lose the stick so that the Dog could get a new stick.

Q: Was there a possibility of the Dog to be around and play even if the Man would've noticed the Evening?

A: Yes, it was the Evening of Companionship (but there is a possibility of the eminent Night blinding the Dog enough to not find any stick).

Q: Was the above question revolved around the Night?

A: No, but the viewer cares less. The Night was eminent and approached before the Man realized it.

Q: Would the advent of the Night be averted?

A: Lol, no! Never.

Q: What did the man do with the Sack of Past and Truth?

A: Carried it on his back.

Q: What else did he do with the Sack of Past and Truth?

A: There’s nothing else to do with it.

Q: Was the Sack heavy?

A: Depends on how strong the Man was.
